Employers across Poland report considerable increase hiring intentions for Q3

ManpowerGroup has published the latest report, in which companies reveal their hiring plans for July to September. The Net Employment Outlook for Poland, which is a labor market barometer and shows companies' willingness to attract new staff, for the coming quarter is optimistic +12%. This result is 4 percentage points higher than the forecast declared for the current quarter, and for the same time last year. 31% of companies surveyed talk about the plans of hiring new employees, 17% forecasting job cuts for the next few months. Almost half of the companies (48%) expect no change to their workforce levels, and only 4% do not know the plans for the next quarter.
Poland's the most competitive sectors are IT with a solid Net Employment Outlook (NEO) of 26%, increasing by 18 percentage points since Q2 2023, but falling by 7 percentage points since this quarter last year, and Communication Services with the same NEO 26%. This sector rising by 5 percentage points since Q2 2023. A sector with a steady plans is Consumer Goods & Services (+16%) and Industrals & Materials (+11%).
Polish hiring managers in all 6 regions expect an increase in staffing levels in Q3 2023. Since the previous quarter, staffing environments have strengthened in 4 of 6 regions and weakened in 2 regions. Looking back to Q3 2022, hiring climates have weakened in 3 of 6 regions, strengthened in 2, and seen no change in one region. The most competitive hiring region in Poland is the South region, with a steady Outlook of +20%. Expectations in this region increased by 13 percentage points since the last quarter and is 19 percentage points higher since Q3 2022. The region with the lowest forecast is South-West, where Outlook for Q3 2023 is +2%, which means lot a lot of job offers in the coming months. NEO for this region is 2% lower than Q2 2023 and drop of 15 percentage points comparing year to year.
All 4 organization sizes anticipate an increase in staffing levels in the next quarter. Polish employers in large organizations with 250+ employees are the most optimistic with a NEO of 18, even though expectations decreased by 4 percentage points since the second quarter of 2023, and by 2 percentage points compared to a year ago. The greatest increase in expectations since last quarter is reported in small organizations with 10-49 employees. They report a rise of 14 percentage points. Employees of medium organizations (50-249 employees) talk about NEO +7% – it is 1 percentage point decrease quarter to quarter, and -5 percentage points weak decrease since this time last year. The lowest Net Employment Outlook was decelerated by micro-enterprises with NEO +2, witch means 6 percent points decrease quarter to quarter, but 8 percent points increase year to year.
